The Snapping Turtle

is a large freshwater turtle known for its agressive disposition when out of the water.  Their powerful beak-like jaws and extremely mobile head and neck set it apart from other wild turtles.  They are known to live in the wild for thirty years.

This tough fellow was trying to take a leisurely stroll across the lawn but was interupted by curious cats, barking dogs and fascinated photographers.

Eventually he made his way back to the swamp.
